Mr Christopher Constant - Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon
Mr Constant has been an Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon and Specialist in Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon at Addenbrooke’s Hospital since 1987 and is qualified as a Master in Medical Law (1994) specializing in consent, surgical error and clinical negligence. He has an extensive background in Clinical Research, Biomechanics and Shoulder Function.
Since his early retirement from active surgical practice in 2006, as a result of severe arthritis in his hands, he has spent five years as Clinical Anatomist at the University of Cambridge and in 2012 became involved with the design team for the Centre, and in obtaining the Human Tissue Authority licence under which the Centre operates.
As well as being a member of the Board, he is the HTA’s Designated Individual and Licensed Teacher at the Centre. ‘Mr C’ brings his clinical and surgical, legal, research and teaching skills to the Centre.
