Urinary Incontinence and Reconstructive Urology Cadaveric Surgical Skills Course Course Full

A practical course: delegates will have hands on experience of a range of female stress urinary incontinence and urinary tract reconstructive surgical techniques using fresh frozen cadavers, in a simulated operating environment with experience faculty.

Urology Procedures:

  • Autologous rectus fascial sling insertion
  • Colposuspension
  • Midurethral sling approaches
  • Female artificial urinary sphincter insertion
  • Harvest of Martias fat pad
  • Ileocystopasty
  • Mitrofanoff/Monti formation
  • Ileocystoplasty
  • Ileal conduit formation

Additional educational elements:

  • Short lecture on the surgical steps for each skill with relevant anatomy

Learning outcomes:

  • Understanding and technical skills of female stress urinary incontinence and reconstructive surgery
  • Anatomy relevant to surgery

Target audience:

  • ST3-8 (Open nationally and internationally for application. HEE regional trainees will have 6-8 reserved places available)

The course includes:

  • Educational material, tuition from experience faculty, and use of surgical instruments and materials
  • Shared access to a fresh-frozen cadaveric pelvis, abdomen, perineum
  • Buffet lunch and refreshments

Class-room time has been minimised to allow as much time as possible for dissection.

£100.00 (for trainees employed by the East of England Deanery) of which £50 is returned on completion of course
£495.00 (for all other attendees)
